FSA EM Loan Assistance Based on Damages and Losses Caused by Drought.

The following letter was sent out by the Texas Division of Emergency Management to Calhoun County.

We have received notice from the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture that your county has been designated eligible to apply for low-interest emergency disaster loans based on damages and losses caused by drought occurring August 27, 2019 and continuing. Eight Texas counties have been declared primary natural disaster areas. There are an additional twenty-five other Texas counties designated as a contiguous counties. Your county has been designated as a contiguous county. The Secretary has notified the Administrator of the Farm Service Agency (FSA) to immediately make emergency loans available to eligible applicants in your county.  Your local FSA office will have the details on this program.

In addition, the Small Business Administration (SBA), in an agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), provides low-interest federal disaster loans to eligible small businesses dependent on farmers and ranchers in counties that have received a disaster declaration from the Secretary of Agriculture.
